The hacking feature wasn't actually included in the series until Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, but it was one of the best parts of the game and was sorely missed in both Conviction and Blacklist. Given that the new game will run in the Snowdrop engine, which has used some of those elements before in The Division, this is a definite possibility. The cover system from the last two games, their more-fluid aiming mechanics, and even the in-universe text during missions would all fit nicely. Don Jordan and Claudia Besso were major parts of what made the games work, as well, playing Irving Lambert and Anna Grímsóttir for every game in the series up through Conviction, with the exception of Pandora Tomorrow. Will we? I don't know, because Ubisoft wouldn't tell me when I asked-and I obviously asked.Īlongside Ironside, however, there are a few other voice actors who made their roles iconic. Ironside recovered and has returned for two special events in Ghost Recon games, so it would be a fantastic treat to hear him again in a full release. They were absent in Blacklist as Ubisoft Toronto went to a full motion-capture setup and Ironside battled cancer, and the latter point was probably more responsible for the recasting than the motion-capture technology. Even if it weren't a remake of the original game, this point would stand, as his signature low vocals and sarcastic charm are what made Sam Fisher such a compelling character. It’s fair to say the Splinter Cell Remake release date is still years away.The most obvious suggestion of all, let's just get it out of the way first: Michael Ironside has to voice Sam Fisher in the Splinter Cell remake. The bad news is those wanting to hear more about the game will have to wait, seeing as the team will be going dark for a while. However, at the 18:05 mark, the team starts looking ahead to the future, and seven pieces of atmospheric concept art are shown off. ![]() The 20th anniversary celebration trailer is quite lengthy at 20 minutes as we from four of the Splinter Cell Remake developers – Creative Director Chris Auty, Technical Director Christian Carriere, Senior Game Designer Andy Schmoll, and Associate Level Design Director Zavian Porter – as well as others about their favorite Splinter Cell moments. Features and elements from other Splinter Cell games have been explored, but bearing in mind the game is still in the prototyping stage, it remains to be seen whether we’ll see them make an appearance in the remake. Splinter Cell Remake is being rebuilt from the ground up with all content done “from scratch.” There will be improvements to the plot, characters, and story to account for “ things that might not have aged particularly well,” but the core of the story and experience will remain the same.
